The checking device comprises at least one portable central unit (3) provided with transceiver means (4) for receiving/transmitting radio signals and many remote units (8) associated with any person the presence of whom is to be checked. at any time the central unit checks the presence of a certain number of people, and the people who are away from the controlled area are signalled by the remote unit.

This device is particularly useful for tourists if used in the interior of a coach to check the presence of all people before leaving for another place. absent individuals are warned that the coach is leaving.
a portable device may be useful also for a tourist guide for the same purpose, e.g.: to minimise the visit time, without having to waste time looking for missing people.
